Creative Works
These are plans, taken from my portfolio that I submitted for the Alternative entry, while it's not one of my most creative works, it allowed me to come here to learn and follow my passion. I began drawing this a week before the submission for Alternative entry was due to close. I spent the whole week stressing and swearing and bashing my head against my desk. Saying I wasn't good enough, I couldn't do it, I wouldn't be finished in time. But I persevered through it and submitted it on time. And now I am studying here.
The State Library of Victoria opened in 1854 designed by Joseph Reed. Reed was a prominent architect in Melbourne, designing the Melbourne Town Hall, Royal Exhibition Building (Which housed the first Parliament in Australia), Scots Church and many more historical and important landmarks of Melbourne. I first visited this building in 2008 when I was 13 and scale of the La Trobe Reading Room (pictured above) was grand and airy and full of light, hidden away behind a sandstone exterior only to reveal itself upon entering the through the lobby. I didn't get to see this building again until I was 22 and the awe and wonder and majesty of the reading room still made my heart swell.
